Getting closer to my new album!!!
All the details are in my current blog. Link below
I have begun an new adventure. Quite unexpected, I begin a musical collaboration with an artist in Haiti. I have been journaling the experience.
The story of my Musical collaboration with Haitian musician, Johnny Jean Joseph
I put some of my original songs on soundcloud.com. My song, ‘Asking the Night’ had a comment by another soundcloud.com member, Johnny Jean Joseph, He liked the song. The beat I put on for ‘Survive’ he was feeling. He commented he wanted to be on this beat and if we could do a collaboration. My other music partner, Brandon West made the beat for 'Survive'. Johnny and I begin to correspond about our music, our goals, style and interests as musicians. I was convinced this collaboration would be good by a statement Johnny made about his main goal. He said “ I want the world to hear my music”. It's a tall order but I have always felt the same way. My own musical journey has had many ups and downs and I am still on my goal . Birds of a feather flock together, right? My hard work will and must pay off. It has been much easier to move forward with the technology to write music with computers and having access to let the public hear my original music on the internet. I still perform live but unless it’s a gig where cover songs are involved and performing for corporations, hotels and private parties, if is difficult to get the money deserved for my services. Johnny's goal is simple and to the point. I felt it is good goal to work toward. I agreed to collaborate.

Hi everybody. I apologize for being out of the loop. Things are really looking better now. After moving from the moldy house my life changed. I live with a friends elderly father, Don, a totally cool 86 year young retired pathologist. It's working out really well. He's a contemporary person and of good nature. I have a loft I call my little home. My music studio is in his wood shop. He can't use the saws now so I have managed to place my instruments and studio amongst the powers tools and saws.
I now have a summer gig at the Maya Hotel, Long Beach Ca. singing and playing steel drum and guitar, at the poolside and special event gigs. It's layed back, beautiful and I'm blessed! Thank you Michael from Calypso Compromise for continually encouraging me to play the steel drum. I love all of you!!! Louise, Status and Johnny! I still work on clients in bodywork, energetically, physically and spiritually. The surf hasn't been much but I'm out there when there's some, with my surfer buddies. I love you guys and girls!
With the techology of soundcloud.com I met a very talented singer, musician, rapper from Haiti, Johnny Joseph. It is his dream to have the world hear his music and I am honored he wants to work with me.We are now collaborating on a song in which he wrote the beat. It's called 'Believe'. It's about believing in ourselves because we are all connected to the divine source. Humans, all living things and mother earth. The future generations are born with this gift. I am very happy to see how truly beautiful they are. I will be singing my half of this song this Thursday, July 19th and then let the beat ride as he is now in the studio writing his half.
I want to thank you all again for signing my email list. Now that things are better I reflect and will not forget how hard it was when I moved to that other house 2 years ago. Some places are more hellish on this earth and that was one of them. I was down to a bike, which I'm glad I had and living in one little room, from a two beadroom guest house, with plastic on the doors and windows to try to stop the mold spores from coming in and dealing with a landlord who lost her head in alcohol. I saw many down and out people on Lincoln Blvd and Pico Blvd. Santa Monica has it's dark side. One night there was a man sitting on those cross streets without a nose. He must have been on hard drugs and lost it. I prayed for him and moved on. I won't forget about this experience and keep working on shining light, beauty, courage and strength. Again I thank all of you and love you.
Blessings, LA CAt
One Love. This is my first blog! Transition is the thought of the day. Transition is one of the truths we live with. All through the day transitions are happening. The question is are we aware of this. Major life transitions can be obvious for us to notice. In my community many are experiencing life transitions. I am transitioning as an URBAN SHAMAN artist too.Letting go of the past, watching the past circle back to me in a spiral effect and bringing in the NEW for the NOW and for the future. How I want to present the constant concept of the truth...that we are ALL ONE...is now manifesting. One of the new ideas I have is showcasing producers writing beats n tracks. The character is Mamasan...and MAMASAN BEATS IT UP....Beats Night. She is spotlighting rappers and singers for this party night. I like this creative force emerging in the music scene and I want to be a part of it. So I n I n Mamasan thought this would be a start. TRANSITIONING POSITIVE OPPORTUNITY FOR BEAT PRODUCERS. COME ONE, COME ALL....Hit Me Up if you want to be heard!! The first party is in JULY!!!!
I call myself an Urban Shaman. I live as a shaman, experiencing the bends of reality, time and space. I have visions, see future events spontaneously, given answers to questions in my dreams and help people heal themselves. I work in the realms of music, dance and artwork. Positive vibration and Love is always what I strive for to the best of my human ability, learning every step of the way.
